Smarter inventory filtering now ensures your AI Shopping Assistant shows only in-stock products, tailored to each shopper’s location.

What’s new

  • Per‑market inventory checks: Recommendations now respect stock availability per location (e.g., US vs. EU) using Shopify Storefront API.

  • Real‑time filtering: If a product isn’t available in the shopper’s market, it’s automatically excluded—no out-of-stock product cards will appear in chat.

Why it matters
If you have multi‑region fulfillment (e.g., split inventory across warehouses) this update ensures shoppers only see what’s available to them, improving conversion and trust.

How to enable

  • In AI Agent settings, click “Update Permissions” when prompted.

  • Grant Storefront API access at the store level in Shopify.

  • Once permissions are updated, the filtering works automatically.

Fallback behavior

If Storefront API access isn’t granted, we can’t check stock by market. In that case — or when the shopper’s location isn’t available, or the order comes through email — the system defaults to the default inventory view, which may show products that are actually out of stock.

Scope and limitations:

  • Channel: Available for Chat only (POS and third‑party inventory tools not yet supported).

  • Timing: Filtering occurs at the end of the sales task; while product cards for out-of-stock items won’t show, a prior agent message may still mention a product.
