The Contact Form feature of our chat widget is now a default and required setting.

We decided to simplify chat settings because we trust this feature to be the best way to connect your customers with your support crew, asynchronously, when no agents are expected to answer and interact in a live way. 💬

And also since its launch, we have seen great feedback from merchants with 98% of you using it.

What will change?
👉 It will no longer be possible to toggle the Contact Form off in the preferences.
👉 The email prompt setting required only outside business hours is removed since it is now obsolete. Impacted chats are shifted toward the optional email prompt option.

A note to our advanced chat customization customers:

  • The methods GorgiasChat.enableContactForm() & GorgiasChat.disableContactForm() are now deprecated and have no effects.

  • If you need, feel free to customize any part of the chat Contact Form (subjects and copy), thanks to advanced customization that we summed up in this dedicated article.
